What is your mission?

My mission lately has been to grow our podcast following.

It hasn’t been a walk in the park and it really takes time and effort to do so having a decent following is the ultimate goal. In order to shed some light on that “work”. Some of the things that go into making a podcast are recording, editing and posting episodes which is no easy task.

RECORDING

Meeting up has been the biggest factor with recording. Sometimes someone can’t meet or we have to reschedule which can get frustrating. When we record we don’t really have trouble with the conversation flowing. Since we are meeting up weekly and don’t really talk to each other during the week. Our episodes are literally us catching up at the same time we are recording which is why we don’t have too many dull moments.

EDITING

This is the part of podcasting that really takes time and WORK. A month ago I did not have the slightest idea of the amount of work editing is. Every long pause, uhm, choppy audio and anything that sounds bad has to be REMOVED. Removing something or making an episode flow sounds easy but it’s truly not. I know editors out there know, you can’t just remove something without affecting the entire audio session. It has really taken some time to learn how to speed through the process and not use up my entire weekend editing. So if we are willing to do it weekly for our listeners that should say something lol.

POSTING

After getting out of editing hell, there comes posting on our platforms and sharing on social media. This is a whole other dilemma, I used to think posting on Tik tok, Instagram or other socials was something easy. NOPE, shout out to all you social media managers out there! It really takes a ton and a half of creativity and energy to make a likeable post lol

At the end of the day, having the podcast and this blog has been a great achievement. Although it’s hard work, it also pays off knowing we aren’t doing it for nothing.
