Hey, real talk—lately, I’ve been feeling stuck. Every day when I step on the scale, I’m hoping to see a drop, but instead, those numbers sometimes go up. It’s not exactly the best feeling.

I try to remind myself that maybe I’m gaining muscle, but I can’t be totally sure without a BMI scan or something more accurate.
So, for now, I’m focusing on how I actually feel overall—not just what the scale says. And honestly, I’ve noticed that spending too much time staring at that number isn’t doing me any favors.
Calorie Tracking: What’s Working and What’s Not
I’ve been using Cal AI to track my calories, which has helped me keep a better tab on what I’m eating. That said, I’ve definitely gone overboard on carbs sometimes and occasionally gone past my calorie goals. That could be one reason progress has stalled—even though my workouts at the gym have been “semi-successful.”
On the bright side, I’m feeling stronger and my cardio game is getting better, so something’s definitely moving in the right direction.
Time for Some Changes
When your current plan isn’t working, it’s time to switch things up.
I haven’t lost any weight in about three weeks, so I’m reassessing. It’s possible I need to clean up my food choices or push harder in the gym.

Right now, I’m doing a 3-day weight training split plus two cardio days for a 5K training.
Starting this Friday, though, I’m tweaking my routine:
- Mondays: Back, Lats, Biceps
- Wednesdays: Leg Day
- Fridays: Chest, Triceps, Shoulders
- Saturdays: 3-mile walk/run
- Sundays (optional): 3-mile walk/run
If you have any thoughts on this plan or ideas for how I could improve it, feel free to DM me on Instagram or drop a comment here.
I’m not looking for a personal trainer, just some friendly feedback from fellow journeyers.
Big shoutout to Jonathan for suggesting we work out together—dude knows his stuff and might help me learn some pointers.
I realized I was making a mistake by doing back and chest on the same day, so this new plan feels like a step up.
Thanks for keeping up with my journey and reading my blogs.
The journey continues!
