What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

This question is not so hard if you really think about it. Alhough it sounds very cliche, without life we are nothing.

We all get this gift given to us without asking and sometimes take it for granted. I for sure can attest that the gift of life is the best gift. Not only because I am grateful to be alive without any diseases or life complications. But also, because I am a father.

Being a father really changes your outlook on life. I have been with my wife for 10+ years and I can assure you that no gift during that decade was better than the gift she gave me. My son is the best gift of life that I can see without mentioning my own life.

And with recent events, I don’t just get one gift. I get two! Which really makes me feel completely grateful.

Outside of the Gift of life

If y’all really think “oh this guy is going fairy tale, happily ever after” mood. I really am and I am happy with my small family. But if you want to hear something “non-cliche”. I think my second best greatest gift would be learning something from someone.

For example, that sought after amazing pie/pozole/casserole recipe that your grandma safeguards with her life. Or a lesson from a grandparent like tying a rope or a special way of doing things.

Their experience and knowledge comes down from way back, generations to generations. That I feel is also an amazing gift because you can’t just google that or find it on the internet.
